Lisa Sargent-Davis attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville and Purdue University completing her undergraduate studies in the School of Liberal Arts and Science- Psychology. Her post-graduate studies, earned her a Masters of Art in Community Health Psychology.

Professionally, the onset of Lisa’s career in 1997, she worked as a Case Manager; Aunt Martha’s and Adoption Specialist for Sullivan House Child Welfare, which enhanced her skillset in case management services. Upon receiving her Master’s Degree, she provided Therapeutic and Behavioral Health services for cases assigned to the Department of Family and Children through LaPorte Hospital.  Lisa has demonstrated her leadership skills while serving as a Chief Operating Officer for an Education program based in Gary and Hammond, Indiana for eight years working with youth and families. She soon transitioned her career path to Program and Project Management at HealthLinc Community Health Center; a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), HealthVisions Midwest providing programming oversight to the Bridges to Wellness Program for St. Catherine Hospital, Catholic Charities, Healthy East Chicago, Salvation Army and United Neighborhood Organization, all based in Northwest Indiana.

 

Lisa performed independent consultant work at LaPorte’s Healthy Families for Tobacco Prevention and Cessation, Action for Healthy Kids-Chicago, and Indiana Wellness Consultants, LLC for consulting services to Community HealthNet Health Centers (5 FQHC locations) offering multi-directorship for several programs; Covering Kids and Families for Health Coverage, Marketing, Outreach and Health Enrollment Services for special projects such as the Affordable Care Act, Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, Centering Pregnancy while advocating for women wellness. In October 2014, Lisa joined the family of SGA Youth & Family Services, currently serving as the Project Director of Midwest Healthy Start. In June 2015, Lisa was promoted to Regional Director of Care Coordination Services- Citywide, with SGA Youth and Family Services.   She coordinated and achieved outcomes using broad approaches to improve health care delivery to overcome obstacles within the American health care system. After briefly serving as the Director of Finance at the Department of Family and Support Services at City of Chicago, she joined HNTB Corp; a Architecture and Engineering firm. She currently serves as the Public Involvement Manager for the Chicago office.

 

Lisa is Lean Six Sigma certified and a graduate of a cohort Fellowship from MidAmerica Regional Public Health Leadership Institute from University of Illinois-Chicago, with a concentration on Infant Mortality.

 

Lisa’s volunteerism on the Purdue University-Alumni Board of Directors serving as the Vice President and Professional Development Chairperson in past years, and a Member –at-Large has contributed to her continued professional growth to strategic planning and business matters at a collegiate level. Additional volunteerism includes membership of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; the first female African-American collegiate organization committed to Civic Engagement, Scholarship, Leadership and Public Service for the past 18 years. She also voluntarily works with Hadiya’s Promise focusing on reduction of gun violence in memory of Hadiya Pendleton.
